All users must register for a new Hamilton® CapTel® account prior to August 30, 2022 to continue using HCBIT and take advantage of new system improvements!
We're excited to announce that several HCBIT system enhancements will be available to better support users. Register for a new account today so you'll be ready to take advantage of:
- Increased captioning speed
- Faster call set-up
- Enhanced security
- Simplified interface
- Single sign-on with one set of credentials for Hamilton CapTel and HCBIT account logins
- With the new login, HCBIT users can use the same account to place and receive calls outside of the office using Hamilton Web™ CapTel® and the Hamilton Mobile™ CapTel® app!
User Account Registration Steps
- To register for a new account, visit Web.HamiltonCapTel.com and click on Sign up here.
- Complete the registration information, ensuring that your personal information is being entered and not that of the business where you work.
- Submit the form and watch for a validation email confirming the account.
- Following email validation, you'll be required to go back to Web.HamiltonCapTel.com and log in with your new account credentials to complete the final steps.
- Navigate to Settings and click on your name at the top left of the page in order to access your User Profile. Scroll down to the section for HCBIT users only to enter a User ID (4 - 10 digits) and PIN (4 digits). You can utilize your existing HCBIT User ID and PIN when setting up your new account.
- Click on Save Profile.
User Level Requirements
Users of HCBIT services are now required to register for a new Hamilton CapTel account prior to August 30, 2022. If a new account is not created, phone calls with captions will not be available on or after this date.
Business Telecom Admin Level Requirements
- There are no requirements to complete and access the new system enhancements
- Firewall rules and IP addresses will remain the same
- There are no changes to the Network Diagram

What is Hamilton Web CapTel?
Hamilton Web CapTel is a service that allows people with hearing loss to make captioned telephone calls via a computer's internet browser. This VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) service does not require a separate telephone connection to function. Instead, audio is provided through the computer.
What is Hamilton Mobile CapTel?

Why do I have to register with Hamilton Web CapTel to continue using Hamilton CapTel for Business, Interconnected by Tenacity (HCBIT)?
As part of HCBIT system enhancements, a single sign-on feature will be available to all users of Hamilton CapTel so that they only need to maintain login credentials for one single account in order to access Hamilton CapTel solutions, including Hamilton Web CapTel and Hamilton Mobile CapTel.
Why am I seeing error messages when I log back in to Hamilton Web CapTel to complete my HCBIT registration?
You may be in a network environment that does not allow for the placing and receiving of phone calls through Hamilton Web CapTel. This may be related to security settings set forth by your company. You may be able to log in to place and receive calls through Hamilton Web CapTel in a different environment, such as your home. Having these errors will not prevent you from completing the registration process for using HCBIT at work.
